COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BOX, SMALL PARTS (PLASTIC, COMPARTMENTED)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description for all Federal agencies.
1. SCOPE:
This description covers a requirements for transparent plastic box with compartments and a hinged cover to be used in military field chests, kits, and assemblies to contain readily visible small parts.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
2.1. The box shall be fabricated from a transparent, colorless, plastic molding material used commercially in making plastic boxes.
2.2. the box shall be a plain, rectangular design, consisting of a rigid body and rigid cover with suitable hinges and an integral locking device. The body of the box shall be divided into six equal compartments by means of five partitions.
2.3. The hinges and hinge pins shall be fabricated of corrosion-resisting annealed steel or integrally molded plastic.
