2.4. The outside bottom of the finished plastic box shall be legibly and permanently marked with the manufacturer’s name or readily identifiable trademark. The methods used for marking of the plastic box shall be molding or etching.

2.6. A sample of the molding material used in making the box shall be tested in accordance with ASTM D256, method A. The molding material shall have a minimum impact strength of 2 foot-pounds per inch of notch.
2.7. If hinges or hinge pins are made of annealed steel, they shall be tested in accordance with ASTM B117 for a period of 24 hours, with no rust permitted.
2.8. Workmanship. The surface of the finished plastic box shall be smooth, free of sharp edges, blisters, old marks, prominent weld marks or sinks, holes, cracks, dirt or any other defects which may affect its durability, serviceability, or appearance. The parting line between the box and cover must fit uniformly without showing any visible gaps. Minor color variations present as a result of recycled polystyrene plastic will be acceptable.
3. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:
3.1 The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
